Rust Legacy — the classic 2015 Rust
One island for everyone, crafting without components or scrap, C4 on a workbench and raids worth forming a clan for. This is Rust Legacy, the version that made the game popular. We are building an x1 server on the classic v1069 build: development is underway, launch is planned for the first half of 2027.
- v1069 The classic build from March 2015
- x1 Original gather rates, no boosts
- 14 days Map wipe, blueprints and clans stay
- 2027 Launch in the first half of the year
What kind of server
The six rules we are building it on.
-
Honest x1
Gather rates exactly as they were in 2015. No boosts and no easy-start shortcuts.
-
Wipes on schedule
The map resets every 14 days on Friday evening. The date is always known in advance.
-
Clans outlive the wipe
Tag, roster and level stay with you. The map resets, your crew does not.
-
One-click launch
The launcher installs the right version and updates itself. No forum archives to hunt.
-
Work against cheats
Server-side checks and client file verification instead of a server with no protection.
-
Nothing pay-to-win
Status and cosmetics. Weapons, explosives, blueprints and clan slots are never sold.
Why people come back to Legacy
Legacy is simpler and harsher than modern Rust. No components, no scrap, no dozen puzzle monuments: just wood, stone, metal and the hours you put into them. A base stands exactly as long as there are people to defend it.
Nobody remembers this version through patch notes. They remember specific evenings: holding radtown, crafting the first C4, losing everything overnight and rebuilding. You do not need to study monthly updates — you just come back to the island.
What we are building
A server on build v1069 with honest x1 rates: original gathering, a map wipe every two weeks, and blueprints and clan rosters that survive it. A wipe resets the map, not your crew.
Alongside it we are making our own client and launcher: one-click install, automatic updates and anti-cheat, instead of hunting for archives on old forums.
While development continues, this site covers the game itself: what Legacy is, how it differs from modern Rust, how people play it today and why it left Steam.
